Getting the Wheeling Fever
We are all heading out to Panamint Valley this weekend.

This is a Cal 4wd event but anyone is welcome to go

check here for more details if needed: Panamint Valley Days

We will be leaving out of San Jose Area on Friday.

This is a really nice area with great trails for all skill levels from hardcore to just easy trails. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

A more positive approach would be to say: "This is a Cal4WD event and EVERYONE is welcome."

After all, CA4WDC has been very involved at keeping areas in California open and providing quality recreation through their Association sponsored events.

Next time, do not post pictures of Surprise Canyon as it has been closed to vehicle access. There are other great trails in the area that are open and provide a variety of wheeling opportunity.

Has someone on the wire been out that way from the san jose area before?

It looks like i could go via the 155 highway through Sequoia National Forest or the 58 highway out of Bakersfield.

I have never gone this far before into the desert and i wonder if anyone has any advice?

Close but not quite...

The 155 will take a very slow route....

From San Jose, take the best route to Bakersfield and then the 58 to CA 14 to Ridgecrest.

Go through Ridgecrest towards Trona. I don't have the highways numbers readily available.

I did just that and Thank You for the info.

I got back Sunday evening. I had a great time and it turns out that someone from the Wire went after all.

I will post up a trip report later but here is some small details.

One lady flippped her rig down a Mountain. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
I got my Rig stuck on a hill side and had to be winched and strapped! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Saw Three Montero's at the Event !

That was a unexpected comment.

I really would have thought you not to care.

???

I love my 4x4Wire Family!

I might have been bored by the videos on "the wall" at Cow Mountain, but I'm the one that wrote the following on your Hollister thread: "Panamint Valley huh? Have a good trip! Would love to see photos if you have the time."

I'm sure we'll wheel together sometime, and that'd be fine by me. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

As shown, this ain't POR. These guys are good about making sure everyone gets home okay from their trips, or at least are unscathed after going a bit too much off the inclinometer!

Ask Santy Claws for a camera. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
