Body Damage is Cool

Without doing a thing to the vehicle you can run 33"s on the truck, with a little bit of rubbing. Trim the bumper end caps and crank the torsion bars and you could get away with 34"s. Add Gen 2 coils and a body lift you could do 35"s+.

THANKS GUYS!!!!
My next question is,,, What ring and pinion is probably in mine? Might there be a ls in the rear? Can I swap a Weber in? and if I can do I need to do a "nutter" on it? The nutter is a bypass of the ECU so the ECU does not try and set timing and fuel mix. I had to do it when I swapped in a Weber on my old Jeep. Is there an online set of specs available? I thought I pretty well exhausted my Google searching capabilities with not much to show for it.

I know a guy on one of the Mighty Max forums I was a member of said he carb'd a 3.0 said it was a major ordeal. Never got any pics out of him for it tho. I'd almost be tempted to do it now seeing as how my 3.0 has some mystery wiring problem.

Ok, Got it home last night and man am I impressed. A question concerning oil pressure. What is normal? I have about 20 pounds at idle and it settles in at about 30 when at highway speeds.I picked up a set of 31x10.50x15's last night too. I feel with the lift coming up that this will give me lots of flex room in the fender wells. Not a rip or tear in the interior either. I will start posting pics tonight of everything I do. Kinda a before and after story.

Also, please put your rig info in the vehicle type field of your personal info which is located under the My Home link above. This way, you won't have to keep telling us what rig you have when you're asking question. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

What rims should I look for? I do prefer steel so I can bang em back out if I ding one in the field.

What rims should I look for? I do prefer steel so I can bang em back out if I ding one in the field. For 31's the stock rims are fine. What rims do you have on there currently? For example for 32x11.5 tires on my 90 v6 (same as 89), I was easily able to use a 15x8 rim w/ a neutral offset (4" back spacing) and IIRC this was with the stock suspension. When I went to 33x12.5's, I went with a 15x8" rim with 3.75" of backspacing and had a 2" longer coils installed in back and did a torsion bar crank to raise the front ~1" and I did have a minor amount of rubbing at full flex in back and when turning hard & flexing in front. With my 33's now mounted on my 89 v6, a 1" torsion bar crank, Gen II coil springs, and a 2" BL... I only very occasionally get slight rubbing up front (sorry this is definitely not a valid comparison for your setup). HTH
