Wanted to get some input/ideas/comments/options/recommendations on running gear swaps - I'm researching options on swaps for axles/differentials and the rest of the running gear in order to have wider options for parts availability for upgrades and replacement.

You're going to need a driver's drop axle-toyota is no go without cutting it up.

Ford
some dodge
some jeeps
uhh,...thats it

So my question is simple - what do you guys think? Go for Gen II parts or consider something from a different vehicle altogether, say a Land Cruiser (too wide?) or something else.

Look forward to some input/ideas from y'all and thanks in advance.

like above, toyotas would require cutting the ball things off(forget the name) and the diff cover(its not really a cover) and flipping all of it, alot of work for the not-so-skilled (me )

wagonner d44 are Low pinion and 6x5.5 lug so you could keep you're mitsu rear end or go with a stronger 14bolt semi float 6x5.5.

Or go 1 ton 8-lug and don't turn back

All depends on the tire size Depending on the size, you can keep the IFS
