Nope. Bailing wire is a LOT lighter. We had lots of it at home; used it for everything from fixing chains on the ol 57 Powerwagon to hoops for a wire fence gate. The reason you find it at Home Cheapo is that it's the wire used to support the top of a chain link fence.

I think my Grandad salvaged the stuff at home off some old telephone poles when the power company replaced 'em. It was the earth ground for the poles in those days; was AL instead of CU.
