OT here, The Welder is a 1994 Miller Syncrowave 250. The circuit board is PN 138307 and has now been repaired at York Electronics a few times. The visual damage was to a resistor and at least one 14 pin IC. York socketed all the IC locations and mass replaced them. I have no clue if or how they test the boards. I am not sure they do test them. For $300+ I could have replaced the $20 worth of ICs myself. At this time the contactor closes but there is no output. The welder did run intermittently for ¢ hr after the first time they had the board. Whenever the machine is set to remote control the High frequency is active. The local welder repair guy just says I told you so about board remans and will not come by to diagnose the welder. I think circuit board remans are in the same class as engine remans. Replace all and hope. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.vermontel.net/~dcma/Miller%20138307.JPG)

Not always. If the components can be gotten, I can certainly replace them. If they're common items, I prob already have them in stock. If you want to mail it to me, I will see what I can do. Worst case scenario, I replace a buncha stuff, and it doesnt work, and you're out shipping.

Here is a pic of the board taken minutes ago, Everything was socketed by York, most of the IC are LF347H ![[Linked Image]](http://www.vermontel.net/~dcma/Miller%20board.JPG) I can ship this down to you tomorrow. I do want to spend some time inside the welder to see if there could be anything else that could be an issue. Heck the shop is still warm since I just finished welding on a Land Rover chassis so maybe I will go back down there.

being a guy who did board repair for a living on a military base that board looks easily fixable. just a few board mount resistors and thru mount caps nothing to throw the board out over.

This is just a simple two layer board. Looking at it right now I question the quality of some of the solder joints the repair company did.

Believe me, I worked with people who are 30 year experience for the federal employed side and they knew nothing about soldering and they did it for a living... I find its either you can or you can't when it comes down to it. People also tend to not clean flux up after soldering too

I hope you guys can get Charlie's board fixed up 'cuz I'm definitely down for a couple tanks depending on final cost. Good luck with the fix!

Just wondering, but are baffles inside the tank needed to keep all that gas from sloshing around? Edit (just re-read and see baffles are in there)

couldn't tell from the pics, but where did you re-route your exhaust to?
