So I have a 91 yj that I'm looking to beef up in order to handle more power from a small block (in the near future) and also to be generally stronger and handle more abuse off road. My question is will 3/4 ton axles out of an 86 ford work without too terribly many modifications. And if not what other axle set ups would be a cheap and easy way to ad strength?
'91 YJ 2.5l, 5spd, lifted, 32's, and all of that other crap us rednecks put on our rigs

A good option for YJ's is the Dana 44's from a late model SJ Grand Wagoneer They have alot bigger brakes and six lug wheels with the ability to accept locking hubs for the front. The track width is even very close.
