I just talked to my buddy who is a Sacramento County Sheriff. He said it wasn't them because that would be illegal. He did say that the California Highway Patrol do crap like that. They also pull over cars and check VINs on every part. He said he saw them remove and confiscate a door and a hood and let the guy drive off. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I dont know why they were OK with him driving a car missing crucial safety parts but I guess the Car Theft Task Force can do anything to anybody. If they decide your car might have stolen parts on it don't expect to be doing anything for the rest of the day as your detained and your car is dismantled.
