The DOHC is a great engine and super reliable *but you have to take care of it which is a problem for most people. If you do your maintenance on time you'll never have a problem and if you keep up on it it's inexpensive. Unfortunatly most people who own vehicles don't take care of them so when you buy a DOHC truck it has been neglected for 150K miles and it needs to be cought up and that is costly. im partial to the DOHC....see sig. i have huge amounts of spare DOHC parts....including an engine SR engine.

granted driving my V6/auto SWB today.....it has decent power for what it is. nowhere near as strong as my 95 SR was though.
