I guess I am missing something here, not seeing all the hostility but oh well.

Onto your rear bearing issue, I would try a Dodge/Chrysler dealership if you can't find anyone else. I know you tried a Mitsubishi one, but its worth a shot. I took my 88 into a local (mom n pop type) shop and they had to take the axle to a Chrysler/Dodge dealership. I don't know how they could do it, and a Mitsu dealership possibly couldn't but I haven't had any issues since (almost 2 years now). Best of luck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

First I said the NY capital district which is 130 miles form nyc. I asked if anyone knew of a shop to do the work. So far I have myself replaced all the front wheel bearings, all the brake lines and brake pads, all the gas lines, all the power steering lines, rebuilt the gas tank and all fittings. put in all new u-joints and replaced the cargo ddor hinges. So i don't need anyone talking down to me about anything that has to do with working on cars. I do not have a 20 ton press and have not been able to find someone to do it for me on over 2 months. I know they need grease but they also need to be replaced sometimes. And also if you are going to be a smart ass learn how to spell correctly when you do it.
Thank you

Works been nuts and have not got back here..sorry

Sorry I upset you ..I was not in any way or form talk down to you or being a smart ass.. If you do as I have said and ask around I'm sure someone will have the tooling to do your axle ...

On the spelling.. I have dyslexia know fun really in this day and age.. And a crime on forums I know .. But a lot of people who have dyslexia are very creative and mechanical .. I'll take that over good spelling any day..

Sorry I upset the forum ...Hope you get your axle fixed ...

A number of us are dyslexic, shoot I can't even spell dyslexic (I used a spell check). A few points that might help. Growing up with a learning disability is tough on anyone's self esteem and we all want to be appreciated and respected.

It' great to be able to have an outlet for what your good at and feel valuable and at the same time help others out.
At the same time because someone is good at something does not mean that no none else is, and the best way to get respect is to respect others. We have had some experts on here that would never cut us mere mortals any slack. The way I see it you never really know what the other guy is capable of and what he can learn, and even if you think something might be out of someone's league, providing options over attitude works better.

As far as the axle goes. I use a local machine shop to get my press work done and they have always the right tooling for my 88. Is the problem getting the old bearings off with the backing plate in the way or is it pressing the new ones on?
