Hey! Is it common for the power steering to take a few days of driving to completely bleed? Reservoir went empty yesterday, and was LOUD. I saw no new spills. I just refilled it, and jacked it up and turned steering left/right a dozen times. The level droppped a bit, so I filled it some more. It's quieted down but still has a "background" soft whine.
Also, The brakes were making noises, too--the vacume assist, I think. The harder I pressed the brake when stopped at a light, the louder IT got. Right now, with the steering full the brakes are quiet. Both of my shop manuals (Haynes & Chilton) say the rear ABS is associated with the steering, and that I MUST take it to a dealer who has the magic, super expensive automatic bleeder. Does this have something to do with the brake noise, and do I HAVE to go to a dealer? (The ABS light works, but is not "on").
