There really is no pressure. Its just a reservoir. It holds fluid. Its constantly being circulated so its splashing around, that's all.

I think you still have air, and what your doing is purging the air so the fluid level keeps going down. If you only put in 3 quarts after running the system dry, you are probably about close to having it full now. After I completely drained my system on my 88, I put in close to 4 quarts.

4 quarts, that's good to know. The fluid loss seems to have slowed. Now let's add to the mix, the Rear Anti-Lock light came on yesterday, and hasn't gone off. Now we also just got a cold spell, and all kinds of things happen when it gets this low (15 degrees in Anchorage). But I have to wonder if this is somehow connected. Is there something wrong with the anti-lock that was being masked by low pwr steer fluid level, that now shows 'cause I got the air out of the system? Is it time to bleed the brakes, as suggested by the manual?

More info, when I brake, a vibration gets started in the truck that doesn't go away until the truck stops all the way, even if I take my foot off the brake. I feel it all through the truck, not from the pedal, feels like it comes from the rear. There's a pulsing to it, like driving on a mild washboard road, or across a metal grate bridge.

Finally, sometimes, when I first drive in the day, (it's cold), and I feel the back end cycling up and down, almost bouncing, as though the wheels weren't quite round, but oval. Maybe old cold shocks that work when they get warmed up? Cold radial tires? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />????

Is this just an old truck, or are these things related? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
