New Years day is Friday so we're looking at a 3 day weekend. If we decide to include new years eve then a 4 day weekend...so lets do a run.

I'm thinking of going south. Maybe the Mojave? Or perhaps north back to Cow Mountain...

Any preferences/takers?

I don't know what the temp is like in Mojave in early January but it'll most likely be cold where ever we go. I'm up for the trip no matter what the weather is like! I'd love another expedition style trip like Mojave, but I'd still go if we end up just having fun at Cow Mountain.

I was in Mojave once on Christmas. It was almost as cold as at the North Pole Lots of snow and ice.

I still do not know my schedule. I cannot commit to anything right now, sorry.

The temperature is the night is going to be in low 40s. I was there recently, and this is a long drive. But for you guys may be it has sense to come there.

I am planning on a couple of days in Ocotillo Wells area of Anza Borrego over New Years.

If you want some good wheeling, come on down....

General night time in the area is low 50s. Oleg did visit when an abnormal cold front was moving through. After BTW, all, with global warming, the temperature should have been higher. However, it was an "abnormal" cold front....

BTW, Ray, your spelling is correct if you capitalize the first letter.. Anza Borrego...

My only concern is AB is a full days drive south for us up north... are there any other trails between LA & the Bay that are open and won't be sub zero?

John, will my 33" tire and rocker armor clad, rear locked Raider do ok there? I might be up for a trip south. What days are you going to be out there? School starts back up on Jan 4 for the little guy and I.

Thanks,

I will probably be going out the 31st.

33" should be no problem.
