Ray...Hwy. 50 east to Sly Park Road, turn right (south) and drive on the twisty windy to Jenkinson Lake Road. Turn left (east) and drive until you reach snow. Jenkinson Lake Road / Mormon Emigrant Trail connects to Hwy. 88 a few miles west of Silver Lake.

Hey bud, just want to be sure I didn't somehow miss something. I'm not detail oriented so it could easily happen for me.

Ray, GPS may be enough to get you back to pavement, but part of the fun is driving no-name roads.

Hey Russ, do you know if Mormon Emigrant Trail is open at both ends?

Carlos,

I do not know if the Hwy. 88 end is open. For me to check is about 120 miles. Omo Ranch Road is closed on that side for sure, I know someone who lives near the El Dorado County end. I'm sure the snow-mobiler guys could tell you.

Russell

I was thinking of swinging by UC Davis' Hospital and visiting Mad_Matt for a few minutes on the way up. Is anyone game? I'm getting the address details but I'm pretty sure it's in Sacramento.

Joanna?
Carlos?
Russ?
Bruno?
Kirk?
Michael?
Chris?

Also he said he'll likely go stir crazy in there so if any of you have a ripped movie you can bring on a thumb drive that he can then copy to his laptop he'd be very grateful!
