I once dropped an RF1A transfer case on my basement stairs, causing a fracture in one of the shifter rails. I put in my truck anyway, where it served for about a year before the rail broke. I salvaged a shift rail from another forward shifter case I had sitting around and did the repairs using the article at the link referenced above for guidance. Like so much about this forum, it was a great help. -- Matt
