The wife's 98 came from Chicagoland. Had them park it in the garage at Midway. Flew Southwest in for ~$100 and drove it home, all in a day.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Thanks for all the input guys. I was down in wilmington NC over the break and thought i had found the gen 1 montero I wanted. It was a 4dr 90 LS, beige and the guy apparently bought it in 1990 from the dealers wife! Unfortunately when i saw it in person the interior was in pretty bad shape and the rear quarter panel was bent in due to an accident. The car had a lot of potential, but i already have a 95 montero which is in great condition and a 98 discovery, so if i were to get a gen 1 it would likely be a replacement for one of my rides and this guys truck didnt make me feel compelled to drop on of them. I guess i'll just keep my eyes peeled.

Take a look at the boulder craigslist. There's a white Gen1 4-door automatic listed for $1500. I went and looked at it, it was pretty clean and drove well.

Thanks for the heads up! I checked it out, but me being picky id prefer the LS model witht he original allow wheels and the better interior. One of these days one will come available!
