I did ask the dealer. He didn't want to elaborate on their test procedure but assured me that diagnostics showed the valve to be faulty. I believe them to be right now that I've established that there is a good spark at #3 and that it has less than half the pressure of cylinder #2.

When it is running good, just take it back and tell him if he would have been more forthcoming with information, he would have gotten the job. NOT!!! Life is to short for that kind of BS.
