Anyone have any ideas for replacement mirrors for my 88, other than ebay or junk yards? I had some ebay ones and they were junk, I dont want to buy any more. I tried a universal pair from the parts store and they diddnt adjust properly. I am going to try another universal pair, but I was hoping some of you guys had something in mind.
BTW, I have the ball and socket type mirror on my wing window equipped 4Runner.

See what www.spaldings.com in Spokane has in their inventory. They've got new and used. We picked up a side mirror for a friend's '89 and it was a good fit; w/wing. I took a digi and sent it down for them, so that was a big help. The mirror was $20+ shipping this past March, NIB. I've used these guys for a long time Adam; never had any trouble with them. They're on Pacific time. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I picked up oem style ones for my Dad's '86 and the '85 I am restoring for my nephew from PartsGeek.com. The pre '86 mirrors are listed for $2.95 and the '86-'88('89 Runner). Both sets appear to be as good as oem quality, the one on my Dad's truck has been on it since September and there has been no color fade.
More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else. '90 X-cab 4.88's 33 BFG AT's, rr ARB, Headers, Ignition upgrade, cold air induction. '91 X-cab 5.29's 315's BFG MT's, rr ARB, custom bumper and flatbed

I have bought replacement mirrors for multiple trucks/4Runners (86-88) over the years and found that most of the cheap aftermarket units were inferior to the originals. Particularly the adjustment range. Some aftermarkets I got were such that the extreme angle of adjustment was not enough for proper visibility. So I guess the quality varies greatly. If you get good ones they are a good value but I found it to be a crapshoot. My preference is to get oem used good shape units... always fit perfectly with no issues. Just my .02

Snowtoy, nice find. The 2.95 one unfortuatly does not look like the ones on my truck. The ones on my truck look like the first one for $15.95

Here is a pic of the one I put bought for my Dad's truck: ![[Linked Image]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v33/Snowtoy/Other/Mirror.jpg) . It is the 3pc mirror(mirror, door plate and screw cover), I could of sworn I only paid $8.95 for it, but I could be wrong. The ones listed for $8.95 appear to be the ones that don't have a cover, similar to the pre-'86 style. The only thing I had to do to it was tighten the tension spring a little so the mirror would stay put. IIRC, they were made in Taiwan and not China.

Yea thats how mine look. The 8.95 ones do look correct. I'll have to bring one inside and compare it to the pictures.
Thanks!
