Thanks guys for all your interest.... looks Like I have 4 guys lined up but only one set for testing... If things change I'll let each of you know...

Thanks again!

Ummmm... testing? Apparently these are already on the market. I havent heard of you guys before but your stuff is already showing up on ebay. Since links aren't allowed (admins: this is getting really damn annoying) look up item number 370304483864.

Is this guy selling stuff he doesnt have yet, or is this a 1st generation product and Rugged Ridge is planning a 2nd/updated version soon?

MI-Mitsu

I've heard of them, and I'm pretty sure that's their AD across the top of this page they pay 4x4wire to put up there..

Patrick, do you have any plans to include any other products for Isuzu, Mitsubishi, etc?

Need a Spot
At this time no... I understand your pain. I ran a Montero back in 96 and loved the little thing. Took it places that they were not intended to go. Ran into the same problems with suppliers. By nature I like to build my own stuff so I just adapted what I could. Built my own bumpers, rocker guards (after bending them to $&@# and back). Was even going to use the Starion Turbo system and convert to a solid front axle when the chance to buy an $800 CJ7 came along...

We deal mainly with Jeeps. We have a chance to replace a supplier in a national parts company and need to fill in some gaps in our current offering of hubs. This required that a new partner be found. This also gave us the chance to look into possible better designs that could be supplied at a very good price. The next gen. of hubs are more in line with the design used by Aisin. My goal is to also roll this design over into the Jeep market as well.

There are a few things that I wanted to see improved over our older hubs.

(1) the mounting body needed to be beefed up.
the current design has less meat if you will.
I broke two during my last outing. Both times the
mounting body expanded under load and allowed the
inner drive gear to spin and brake the case.
Grant you this was with a 360 V8 Dana 44 front axle
with a locker, 60:1 final drive ratio, and 35"
BFG Krawlers.

(2) replacement of plastic center turn knob. We have
had some fail. Not a lot but some.
The first gen. are good and I stand behind them but it's always good to keep improving and moving forward.

Yeah the Rugged Ridge/AVM hubs are the only ones still being built for our rigs. Unless you find a set of used/junk yard hubs you will be buying RR/AVM.

Well, if they were the only ones that still made them.... why did he suddenly post that the company was just now "testing" their product?I'm not pissed that I didn't get a set, my auto's work fine for me & the way I use them.It just seems a bit conspicuous that, out of the blue; a rep would choose to post on this site & we all respond, drooling , for a set of free hubs.It seems that there may be hidden motives,or maybe I'm just paranoid. Again... I wasn't trying to offend, just a gut reaction.

Its not completely out of the blue, I mean he said in his original post that they were making a 2nd generation of hubs for the Gen1 Montero. Seems almost normal if the company wants to improve on design and get real world opinions.

Body Damage is Cool
made the first gen hubs
busted a few of the jeep hubs with a V8 and lockers with Krawler stickie tires
decided they could use some revising
testing the new stuff to make sure its strong enough

doesn't seem to out of line to me...hubs aren't bulletproof, and he is just making them better
