Oops... just realized I never posted the results from this mod after completing it last July. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif" alt="" />

Anyhow, the sliders are on and have been tested to my satisfaction.

Aligning & supporting them with 4 jack stands...

Cutting the legs to fit.

Notes:
1) With a 2" BL I had to definitely cut them at an angle to raise the sliders as high and tight up against the body as possible.
2) The front legs are too short because the frame goes inwards from the side of the vehicle. We extended both left and right legs using a scrap piece that came from cutting the rear legs to length.

Here's my brother-in-Law welding them in place.
[Linked Image]

In place almost ready for paint.

[Linked Image]

A touch of body sealer around all edges especially the top of the frame where we were unable to weld it shut. This helps minimize future exposure to the elements and ultimately rust...
[Linked Image]

After cleaning them off and painting them using a nice Rustoleum 'hammer' finish.

Funny, those look pretty shiny. Please tell me you've actually used them by now...

I've not seen (affordable) steel so tough before. I'd recommend these sliders to anyone who can make them fit their application. I wish they made a size for the SWB.

LOL, yes. They're actually rusting in areas where I 'used' them. I have to go in and clean those areas up and repaint them. No longer shiny.

I think you need to leave some of the rust otherwise you may just look like a poser. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I don't know anything about sliders but the's an SR in the yard here and A guy on CL in Morro Bay that has sliders for sale. These may be just pretty ones for looks or maybe they would be of value to someone. Just a heads up.

Looking good Ray. I thought about color matching, but kept it black cause it makes the body "look" higher. I've been also thinking of making fender sliders as well & connecting them to the ARB, around to the slider

Finished cutting the passenger slider from 'Ol Blue over the weekend, looks good set up against the MM, but about 16" too short. Hmm. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Does anyone have any feedback on these sliders from a design perspective? They are somewhat different from the other Toyota applications out there, but I didn't know if that was a good thing or not. The guy can custom build any length I request and leave the legs off in order to graft it on the Montero. The price would end up being slightly less than what's listed on the site.

Any thoughts?

They look good. They look heavy, too.
