anyone have a plan to keep snow from packing in the engine
compartment when it is really deep and kia is not lifted.

Snow Packed In Your Sporty?

I do not know of any devices other than skid plating that would deter snow from packing in the engine bay.

Skid plating might also be dangerous, because you cannot get the snow out.

Snow can build up under the rig making a solid block. The engine could actually overheat while the transmission and drive train could freeze.

Deep snow and a hard working engine can raise the temperature to boil over. Watch the engine temperature gauge when wheeling in deep snow. (Just like mud)

Use a broom, snow brush or similar device to get snow out of the engine bay and from the undercarriage.

Brush your SportyÆs wheel wells clear of snow; Rotating tires may warm the snow, causing a block of ice to form in the wheel wells, making it impossible to turn the wheel or rotate your tires.

When Ice forms in the engine bay and/or the undercarriage it is wise to take your vehicle into the garage if possible to melt the ice. Tapping and/or forcing ice out of crevices like the engine bay may cause other items to break or shatter in the cold conditions. Space Heaters also work good outside to warm up your Sporty.
