Well the problem here is that Environmentalist don't play by those rules so it's in our own best interest to clearly point out the locales so these pictures cannot be used against us.

yeah those enviromentalist are really stupid half the time they do more harm than good. Wasn't there a famous picture of people wheeling and there was trash everywhere because of a nearby landfill, the enviro idiots used this picture to close part of the nearby trail system. After seeing Telico closed for water issues and Carnegie on the verge of closure for water issues and Rubicon under attack for water issues...

And, Forest Service and state water boards are beginning to push watershed protection in order to ensure water quality...

I helped Friends of the Rubicon/Rubicon Trail Foundation develop their presentation to the Central Valley Water Control Board that countered the environmental groups pressure to close Rubicon. PEER and Trout Unlimited used photos of 4x4s in water lifted from web pages and forums as their supporting documentation to the damages OHV is causing to the water supply.

I am meeting with Forest Service on their Water Quality Management Plan for California Forests. Other Forest nation wide will be undertaking similar planning in the coming months.

And, when water quality boards (functioning under EPA mandates) become involved, it doesn't matter if it is public or private lands.

Private land owners are REQUIRED to contain sediment runoff to their own property.

For the electrical, open the truck up as much as possible to get the puddles out. I'm going to be vague because I'm a Gen1 guy, but you want to make sure there aren't any components just soaking in trapped water. Maybe pull the interior door trim so the power windows & locks can dry, etc. Until it dries out you'll get shorts in electrical connectors that will make everything act funny. Once it's all dry, then you'll have to start dealing with corrosion.

For the mechanical, take it to a car wash and spray all of that nasty sediment out of the frame, brakes, etc. Then obviously check your fluids for water contamination (differential, transfer case, transmission, etc).

Beginning? Air and water quality has been a big issue for a very long time.

I personally don't see any issues with the photo other than its sad to see a nice Montero sunk in mud!

I do see a problem when people brag about removing emissions equipment and getting around testing. And as a guy that likes to fish water quality is an important issue.

I do consider my self pro-environment and I enjoy getting out and playing. Part of the play is to have a good experience. That experience includes clean air, good fishing and a fun drive to get there. I general I fish from the shore but at some point I plan on getting a small boat.
