Ok back on topic. sorry about your flodding out. My friend hydrolocked is grand cherokee going through a big hole. I told him to probe it out before going 20 sec lately 6000 lb paper weight that I had to pull out

On a recent trip to the Mojave Trail, we had a brand spanking new jeep (<2k/2mo old) hydrolock and throw a rod. It was due to driver error and driving too fast through a stream. All other vehicles made it through without incident.

One word fellows: diesel. No plugs to get wet, no ecu under the dash etc. But you don't want to hear that. (in all fairness, I guess the trans computer would still be an issue if it was an auto.)

I've seen four vehicles hydrolock in my wheeling times. Two of them followed me through a deep hole, when I was driving 3.0/V6s. Both could have been prevented if they'd slowed down, as posted above. These days we try to avoid stream crossings if possible, and if not possible, we look for a hard bottom, and try to get across in the easiest place with a steady pace, and without shifting gears if avoidable.

Interesting topics. I like reading stuff like this. But unfortunately, those tree huggers have tons more people trying to close down trails than we have trying to keep them open.

So Tellico is closed down for good or for now?

Had to go to Michigan for a funeral last week so she sat wet for over a week. Got some time today to dig in. Here is how she looks now
[Linked Image]

And here is part of the problem. Yummy!
[Linked Image]

The ECM and ETACs looks similar to the fuse block. I'm going to clean them all and see what happens. My drivers side power windows and door locks also look like that.

Question...I can't seem to locate the TCM/TCU/tranny computer. Is it integrated into the ECM as one unit? Thanks
