Hey Matt, you'd better get on that turbo swap. There's a guy on OuterLimits who is swapping a 3.5 DOHC into a Gen I LWB. He was at first thinking about 3.0 TT. Nowhis plans are to get the 3.5 in order and set, then move on to turboing it. Seems he's been reading about crazy people doing 3.5TT into 3000 VR4s. Wonder where that craziness comes from...???

I suggested he track you down here if he gets stuck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

A 3.5TT in a gen1 would be sweet! I got laid off last Friday so it sounds like he will beat me to it. Let me know if he needs any help with anything.

I hope you did not have the nasty swamp smell when you pulled back the carpet and insulation. In a weeks time my buddies had mold and was rank when we cleaned it out. good luck with it.

Oh yeah she stinks. That is the least of my concerns right now.

I got all the electronics cleaned and installed today. Then found out that my starter was full of mud. Took that all apart and the brushes were jam packed full of mud lol. Got that all clean and put it back on tonight. Something weird it happening though. The starter and starter solenoid are working fine but it is not engaging with the flex plate. It got dark so I have not looked deep into it yet. Anyone ever have that happen?

I guess that's good. As in, nice for the $flow, but bad for the TT...

Here's hoping you can get everything working again. Just be glad your Montero's swimming lessons were in fresh water rather than salt water. Just ask me how I know about that...

[Linked Image]

The front tire that's barely visible above the water line is a 35" tire.

The above picture is the last one my camera ever took - it was in my center console and drowned in the salt water also.

The long, drying-out period.

Definitely change your transmission fluid if you haven't already.
