please dont quote me here, but a couple years back, i ran into this problem on one of my troopers. the sending unit was available, but pricey and i just wanted a cheap way out. i ended up getting a repair kit for this at advanced auto ( think it was $12 ). all it was really was some straight brake line with a flared end as well as a " reduced end" i then pulled sending unit, pulled pump , was careful to blow out gas from unit. i ground nipples off flush , reamed out any burrs in holes. i then put a curve or bend as close as i could to original nipples and inserted the "reduced end " into holes. i used a jb weld type product as base of tubes cant recall exactly what ) to keep it in place. let it sit at least 24hrs to cure and only then hooked hoses back up. it worked fine, and i save closed to $200. might be worth checking into ? hope this helps - mike

I might have to go this route, maybe i can thread it in screw in some nipples but i'll have to take it apart to see what i can get away with, when i was trying to break the sending side loose that connection started flexing pretty good too, i think that whole thing is just old and fragile.
