Hi Folks.. its been a while..


The last one is a head scratcher though..

The alternator does not engage upon start up, typically takes 5 to 7 min of running until it starts charging..


Back ground.. 1) One of the cheap oil filters I picked up in Nicaragua had a seal failure and oil leaked on to the (back of) alternator 2) The belt was loose .. Retightened yesterday..

I am guessing that the belt is glazed and has to be replaced, probably next Saturday, but just looking for some feed back from any of you most learned gents.. I have not had an alternator issue like this before and grasping at straws..

And a happy new decade to all here as it has been some time since I checked in last..


The Paj putting along at 156,000km. Will be starting year 5 on Feb 2 for her being on the road here in Ontario. Still the daily driver but I have to admit there have been a few respites taken in the Expedition for quirks starting to show.. I am also puzzled on how I can keep the ol' girl now as my daughter just turned 16 and will be looking to drive soon.. She does not like the Paj and I do not want her driving the Expedition so I may turn to one of the LHD conversions offed by some importers... Any one brought one over yet??
