I had a glock 36 once. Ended up selling it because while it was a very nice gun, I think the gun and especially the grip is much bigger than it needed to be for a compact single stack .45 that only holds 6 rounds.

It's nearly the same size as the medium size Glock 23.

You basically are getting a double stack gun/grip with a single stack mag, because Glock choose to stick with it's mostly plastic magazine, which has to be much wider than the metal magazines. Also the 36 has a unique frame that is entirely unique that model only, while nearly all other Glocks share a basic frame with other models, so holster options are slightly more limited.

However, I regret selling it, because it was still a good shooting, reliable gun. My biggest complain is really just that it's too big for the capacity and the magazines were especially too big for only holding 6 rounds.

I'd really rather have 13+1 .40 cal in the same size gun, than 6+1 .45 cal. Now if Glock would just make a true compact, true single stack gun with a true single stack grip....then we'd be talking.

I do agree, however, that as far as .45 ACPs go, it is the most compact of the Glocks and the only other .45 ACP, the 21 and 30 have grips that are WAY too wide for my liking at all.

Glock needs to figure out a way to narrow their dam grips. not just front to rear, like they have on some models but side to side and if they'd go to metal mags like everyone else, they could.
