AND then one gets to the brake pads themselves.. The racing pads that seem to be favored by the hotrodders are for just that...racing! They are too hard for normal city/hiway driving. These pads need a few hard stops to heat up before they start to work as advertised.
The older, softer and quicker to wear out pads work best for normal driving. One can depend on them to stop the vehicle the first time every time.
Pardon the little rant.. I am just trying to say that NEW & DIFFERENT don't mean BETTER! Not for every case anyway.
