Just so you know, the rebuilt engine wont have balance shafts ( aka silent shafts). Mass re-builders typically get rid of them to save on costs.

Some don't notice, others do. I have driven both and prefer to keep them.

Do some background on the re builder and their rep. Find out who covers installation costs if the rebuild goes bad.

I'm surprised Jasper would even still offer a rebuilt 2.6. Seems they couldn't ever get one right...

TEP tends to be on the pricey side of the spectrum.

TEP is the only one really out there hanging their shingle like they do. There are a few other sources in the community, but they are more geared to the StarQuest turbo crowd. What sort of parts have you been getting?

"Performance" cam, huh? Got any before and after dyno's?

As mentioned above, Clearwater, non-jet valve head, my preference is for hydraulic VLA's, is the way to go.

But then you'd have to fit your ...performance cam...

Use a turbo motor head gasket. As long as your cooling system is top-notch, you won't have any problems.
