I've been keeping up w/ the dicsussion on YotaTech. Seems pretty solid, he claims it's been tested w/ desert jumping etc.
Actually i'm planning to order one of the DIY weld-together kits very soon, figure I'll give it a try.

And why the T100 axles? What's the difference between T100 and pickup axles?

Blazeland says his brother is using it with the 4" bracket lift, 2 years, no problems. It's not necessary and IMO that's a LOT of lift (prob 7-8") but possible. And why the T100 axles? What's the difference between T100 and pickup axles? The T100 axles have longer shafts, but the bolt/splines aret he same. You need teh extra length b/c the single is now farther away from the stub shafts on the differential. The Total Chaos kit requires use of the same axles.

Come on, you guys are killing me w/ the searchables here... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/nana.gif" alt="" /> http://www.yotatech.com/f37/blazeland-d-i-y-weld-up-kit-194252/it's been discussed a lot on Yotatech. Aparently he's been trying to sell the units for awhile /o much luck, he recently started working out the "DIY" weld-together-yourself kits just to get them going b/c guys still complaining about the cost. It's no Total Chaos fab operation for sure, just a guy w/ an idea who wants to make a cheaper option available to folks (I don't think he's really making any $$ of of them) but it seems pretty beefy etc. Like I said, I have a plan to purchaese soem myself hopefully within the next months, I'm just waiting to finish building some capitol, a few things have to be done first (roll cage, fix rear suspension, etc). But this is def on my "to do" plan in conjunction with teh season's races for the new ECORS in the Carolinas.

I followed this thread on yotatech. His website has gotten better and it looks like he's serious. I like the idea of an independent guy doing something like this. My '89 4runner might be a candidate and I might be a customer if the economy picks up some day. -- Matt
