I got some friends (ya, I actually do) that own a mechanic shop here in town. The owner is working on a project car (81 Camaro) and did the underside, but he also changed all the bushings and joints too!
It looks really nice. He said that I could use their shop on the weekends for my Sporty project for free of charge......Sporty project that seems to never end.
The buckets are like $24 each and I should need about 3 for many coats.
I remember that Jaboo and Bomber have lot's of rust underneath...and I don't want that to happen to mine.
You see, I go to the beach here in south Texas and I thought that it would be a good investment.
Has anyone elso thought of doing this and with what type??
Thanks,
Mikey

Don't waste your time nor money on undercoat for corosion purposes living in Texas.
Driving on the beach won't do jack to your rig unless you take it snorkeling
Now, if you want better sound deadner then go for it

I think somebody wheeled mine before me. Or took it snorkeling. The dealer said they put new parts in front, (from ruined needle bearings and half shaft seals, of course i didn't ask), but i didn't even look underneath. It looked great bodywise. It looked like anywhere that ever had a scrape was rusted bad underneath. Now if you still have a fairly rust free surface, it definately can't hurt to put on some protection.

How thick do you spray it?
Ohhhhh. I get it. When the undercariage is rusted away it's lighter.

I guess you could get excessive with the brush on stuff. That thick wouldn't add any extra protection anyway. How much does three buckets weigh. Make it in two. That way you have an excuse to leave anyone you want behind, (in example: inlaws, ya know, for the go green erra).
Or i could use to lose at least a pound or two.

Undercoating can do two things for you, #1 it protects against corrosion if applied correctly.
#2 when applied to the underside of the floor it helps reduce road noise like a sound deadner.
