Ok, sorry Leo. That's 5 for DV and 1 for MT. I know you also wanted to do the MT in that direction the last time but majority rule in most of these situations plus I hear DV's also much more photogenic this time of year.

As for the dates, I'd really like you all to reconsider April. In April temps WILL BE in the 100's during the day! March should be cooler (90's?) but I'm not sure by how much.

For March, I know some of you have conflicting dates. Can we come to an accord on that or can you really not make any other dates even with me planning it this far out?

If we do April then I'd like to shoot for 4/9-11 with the evening of the 11th being an optional sleep in DV evening.

What do you all think?

Still figuring out the trails/route so no news on that yet but I'll post up as I determine that.

This could be interesting. If the dates happen to work out, I might make it.

I was 'wheeling in DV in May, June, July and August/September. April does not scare me

Ray, probably, this is the time to start planning the trip. Who is leading, when, schedule, what is the route ?

My personal knowledge of the DV is rather limited, although I was there several times. In terms of 'wheeling, I am familiar with the northern part of the Valley, mostly.

I hate the cold nights. I hope that the weather will not be that bad in this April.

Good point Oleg. I was going to review the trail options/locations this weekend after the snow run; post up my thoughts; & check for insights/suggestions from those who have been there already.

There is a good route through Golar Wash.

You enter on the Ridgecrest side and come out in Death Valley. It is on the south end of the park.

The Trona Pinnacles are just outside of Ridgecrest and a very interesting sight....

What's that trail rated as John? I'm hoping for something moderately difficult.

TIA.
