Carlos and I will likely find a motel on the way there possibly at Lone Pine which is still 90 minutes away from Big Pine. Update (April 6 @ 9:20am): I'll be taking the northern route to get to Big Pine Thursday after work.

I was reviewing the available routes to 395 from the north. All major highways appear to be closed with the exception of 50. Even 89 is closed due to avalanche control.

Is that what everyone is expecting to take?
