Oleg how due you plot the way point in Google Earth? I tried playing with it and could not figure it out.

Nick, my waypoints technology is:

1) I set them in my MapSource program by Garmin.
2) Then I upload them to actual GPS device (Garmin).
3) Then I start my Google Earth version 5.x and use "tools" menu to connect to GPS device and to download the waypoints (and tracks) to Google Earth.

So, I am using actual GPS device as the loading tool for Google Earth. Google Earth does not understand my MapSource file format, but it can connect to the GPS device and take the information from device.

Then I "fly" around the area in Google Earth, playing with terrain, and I check the real path, and make necessary adjustments to my waypoints.
Really useful thing to make everything perfect, and get familiar with the actual terrain before the trip.

So we're meeting in Bishop then?

Yes, yes, I'll see you at the Pine Tree. The big one and not the one all by it's lonesome.

Update: I just checked on google maps. There's a Chevron at the north end of tow, a 76 & Mobil gas station near the center of town. Perhaps we should meet at the Mobil/76 gas station?

There's also a 'Country Kitchen Restaurant' there. Might be a good spot for breakfast. I suggest meeting there at 8:30am for grub if you want so we can all be ready to leave by 10:00am.

Ray, Lone Pine? are you coming from the south?

I'll be at the Motel 6 in Bishop Thursday evening. Hopefully in time for dinner and a good nights sleep.

I have a bad feeling about this. Some people will definitely miss the right meeting place.

ATTENTION...
THE MEET UP POINT FOR THURSDAY @ 10:00am IS BIG PINE, CA not Lone Pine.

There you go Oleg. No need to babysit. If anyone misses that, decides not to contact me and ends up at lone pine, then they deserve to get lost.
