I think it is 2.0. Has an aftermarket carb.
Question is about reliabilty and junkyard part availabilty.
Also, do I correctly assume that the auto transmission is the same as Montero? It is a Dodge.

That should be a 4g63, which is pretty reliable, and very upgradeable...

Define mini truck. I think of those crazy rigs like on Super Mini Trucks that someone posted on not too long ago in that Mitsu Jeeps thread.

Big Truck: 00, 3.5, Endeavor, 5-Spd drive line in hand!
Little Truck: 87, 2.6T I/C, MT, LSDs, Tonneau Top
Her Truck: 03, 3.8, 20th Anniv, 65k
Daughter's: 06 Eclipse, Keeping it Mitsu!

If its a 2.0 5spd its gonna be a narrowblock bellhousing wont fit to stock setup, if its 2.0 auto wideblock will fit. There about 90hp. Not really worth it, I'm suprised there arent more 2.4 swaps here 120hp 2.4 FI'd. wideblock

4G52 I think, or thought... that is the one I was asking about.
The 4G52 displaces 2.0 L (1995 cc).

Now, my info comes from WIKI....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_Astron_engine#4G52

So how much is , you ask? Why, is it valuable? I dont know. I just never heard about here...even your list did not have it...I think

G52b was only offered 79-82 in the trucks. It'd be a narrowblock motor most likely also.

The g52b uses different intake manis and some different things. The old Colt performance mag said to swap the g52b head on the g54b and bump your compression up to bout 11:1

Ive got a dual sidedraft intake mani for a g52b. I've been collecting g52b's just b/c there hard to find parts for.

you must be correct then ( when will i learn not to doubt fasteddy's genius)

I thought wiki was saying something different

I'll bet this 1987-1993 "Ram 50" 2 wheeler has the same auto as montero.

thanks.
