It seems a little crazy to suggest someone would break open a transmission and replace a gear with the wrong one, like they had a second fourth gear just laying around.

Doesn't it?

I agree. I suggested it with that exactly in mind. Hoping to exhaust all other possibilities because the reality is, why in the world would someone even consider doing that and besides that, is it even possible? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I doubt that gear has been changed. Seems the most unlikely thing but then again ricardo's in Mexico and I'm sure they've done stranger things because alot of times people will improvise and adapt using what's at hand to repair a vehicle.

Ricardo, has it always behaved like this after you purchased it? Did you buy it from a car dealer or the prior owner? Maybe either can tell you what's up with it.

As you said, people here perform weird things to their vehicles, i asked the man from who i got the Raider about this 5th gear issue, he told me that he didn't anything on the transmission and that he noticed the issue. My question is, besides this problem being weird, It is possible to get a normal 5th gear like the othe Raiders, i mean, with the normal gear ratio? Should i look for any part specifically?

Again, thanks for the attention, it has been a pain in the rear looking for help
