I'll probably do that before I'm finished. I'll have to drill out the bolts.

I can't see or feel a weld anywhere between the mud flap mounting bracket and the bumper.

I could cut the bracket from the bumper at the point where the bracket begins to bend back toward the tire.

I can't figure out why someone put these on this truck in the first place!

Can you make any sense of this?

Do you think this intended to be functional or stylish?

I think those are the part of the John Baker, Montero ground effects kit. By chance is there a wing that looks like it was from a Supra mounted on the roof?

Yes I was kidding.

I suppose the flaps in front could keep light snow and soft dirt from rising in front of the vehicle and landing on the hood and windshieild. When I haul ass through snow it is like a white out.....maybe those help.

Those things will get torn off the first time you put one of those front tires on a rock.

I had big mud flaps on an old 76 F-150 I had years ago. I was backing over a curb and the thing got caught between the curb and my tire and just shredded the thing clean off.

If you wheel, lose the mud flaps......I shouldn't have to say this but ....especially the front mud flaps.

Awesome rig.

Do you plan on mudding in reverse? Plus don't you think they will

This is funny. Maybe the flaps have something to do with not having windshield wipers. (I don't see them in the picture) This monty came from a place where the rain come up wards?

Body Damage is Cool
Maybe the wipers were removed to improve aerodynamic efficiency?

The front mudflaps are probably part of the same aero package - designed to reduce the turbulence caused by the exposed bottom half of the front tires.

You are very observant! The wiper arms were getting corrosion protection and a top coat of black paint.

I'm surprised someone didn't ask about the side-view mirror on the driver's side, or the absence of one from the passenger side.

[Linked Image]

These side view mirrors are awesome! The convex mirror provides a wide view, there is absolutely no blind spot, and they are amazingly helpful in heavy traffic or when backing up in close quarters.

Why only one? My teenage stepson decided they were ugly and took the mirror off the passenger side before I could stop him.
