He said he found a different one last minute yesterday. Sounds like a real clean 89 V6 for a good price. Let's see some pics! OK Kevin, you win. The V6 and 4 cyl are equally susceptible to overheating and head damage. Just messing with you. As long as its a Montero, who cares right?

Exactly.... I'm happy with either. Take what I'm saying this week with a grain of salt. The job hunt thing did get under my skin.

One difference I have found with the 4 cyl head is that they will fatigue crack over time. The greater the temperature extremes the faster it happens. The V6 motors are a lot less prone to this. The upside is when treated well the 4 cyl will last a really long time.

I have finally been getting some good responses and call backs on my Resume. Still a struggle but things seem to be picking up.

Need a Spot
Hey guys, thanks for all help, search engines etc and sorry I dropped out of site right after my intial post. We had a family emergency hit us so it took me off line for the past few days.

Just to announce, I am the proud new owner of a red '89 2-door that kicks major booty!!!! Couldn't be happier, great rig, well taken care of, tons of receipts blah blah blah. It kind of "fell into my lap" so to speak so I couldn't pass it up.

I'll post pics in the next couple days. I do need a couple things however, it has those tiny black mirrors and I hate them so I'm looking for a couple of the large side views if anyone has a couple for sale. Also could use a new lid for the center console, either blue or grey.

Thanks again fellas and keep an eye out for pics.

KRhea
