Done! Pictures below.
Lessons learned:
1) Paint sliders more than half a day before they are to be put on. The top coat was nowhere near cured and a lot of the paint came off during installation.
2) Don't paint where your kindly welder dude will be welding things together. Toasty spent a lot of time grinding my paint right back off to get back to the bare metal where the legs attached to the sliders themselves.
3) Don't forget to bring your own welding helmet. Toasty had all kinds of fun with OnSail's equipment. And I think he forgot a couple of other things, too. This slowed things down.
4) Plan for puh-lenty of time to get these on right. It took most of a day to get this all finished. OnSail's neighbor let Toasty use the metal chop saw, which was downright nice of him. I broke out my car wax and had way more than enough time to get most all of the truck waxed during the day, in between all my breaks.
5) XM channel 44 is just like a mix tape I would make. It's too cool that OnSail had that on while we were there.
6) Epoxy garage floor coatings are cool in so many ways.
7) As usual, I'm forgetting all kinds of stuff. Thanks, thanks, thanks to OnSail for all the tools, equipment, time and effort he lended to the project. It will not be forgotten. Thanks to Toasty for the skill, time and effort. Thanks to WrenchWench for the foot power and willingness to just jump in on things. And thanks to Ryany for stopping by and giving us a break.
Here's the "candy':
Tomorrow, they will be tested. More reviewing to follow.
