Recently developed this annoying vibration/rattle that was more evident at a drive up window or next to a building.

It sounded like thin metal vibrating against something and i assumed it was the exhaust.

I crawled under the sporty but couldn't find anything obvious that would cause such a noise?

My exhaust is all orig w/273k miles so I assumed my muffler must have internal issues.

Took it to my buddy's exhaust shop and discovered a broken weld on the heat shield on top of the stock muffler!

So we cut that sucker off and problem solved!! Took less than 5 minutes to diag and fix with it in the air!!

Heat shield doesn't have a purpose in my opinion so if anyone experiences the same just cut the sucker off.
