How much would it be anyway??

About $850 <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />

Wow, for that price I would rather buy $850 worth of more gasoline <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" /> That's a lot more gas than you will ever save with the chip...

Guys... I think you are calculating something wrong

400.00 EUR = 542.769 USD
Euro United States Dollars
1 EUR = 1.35692 USD 1 USD = 0.736962 EUR

Even at $550.00 it seems a bit steep for the gain you have advised.

Hydra seems to be on a Mod roll, maybe he will try it and report.

Like the old commercial ... Have Mikey try it, he'll try anything <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

I aint say it cheap..
I personaly I am thanking my 3yearold daughter who draw the lucky lottery for her dad!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

BTW I also had a very brief drive of an other sporty with an other program, the Englich variant of the Ausie program
The thing is that thiw spesific one has also a custom header and a free flow cat and slitely larger tubbing...

even beter... it "breathes" more freely..
Al in all
A little bit from here a little bit from there at the end MAKES difference...

A! I forgot
All programs ( the two I knnow any way) the main thing they are doing is to require higher octane gas than te 87 you have in order to be able to advance timming withoyt having detonation

So we'd have to run Premium Gas all the time as well ... scuuuuuurew that!!

I buy high octane for my dirt bike at $5.50 a gal but I don't drive it all over He!! and back either.

I guess if my pockets were a lot deeper and I was looking for that extra edge to one up my Sporty buddy I might consider it.

Since neither is the case, i'll have to pass on that adventure.

Thanks Fokion for the info

The lower octane you can find in europe is 95 and on that my chip is tuned on
that we call it unleaded

Now we also have the v-power as lets say Shell cals it that claims to have 98 octane ( and ofcorse other companies call it different names )

and the V-power Racing that claims to be even more...

Just to have a comparison
for the simple unleaded 95 we pay 1.2 - 1.26 euros per Liter

so every little fuel economy counts..
I belive that the ideal - maximum that you can do for a N/A sportage
is
programm ( yes it works for what is worth for a N/A engine )
a good header + freeflowcat + Plumbing of the exauste
a BMC barel type filter
electric fan
a little Shaving of the head to increase compresion a little bit ( but then with the risk of damaging the valves if you break a timing belt)together with a little porting and maching

allthat combined in a good engine I belive can get you to the area of 160 hp compared the the 130 stock since - dont forget that - we have an UNDERPOWERED version of the same mazda engine that with leaded fuel 10.something compresion different program ( solved that!!) different cams had some 180Hp...
