... and poisen spider mesa stock as they have bypasses for most of the major obstacles. few places on the way up to psm where you will need skinny pedal to get up but once your on top youll be fine. ....

The first actual slick rock step heading up, the V (or notch), and two of the big steps after the waterfall and the big steps in the 'play area' on top of the mesa have by-passes. That's about 1/3 of the 'obstacles' in the first 2/3rds of the trail. Can't say what the loop is like 'cause I haven't done the loop on top the mesa.

It's still a great trail but it's gotten much worse in the last few years. We just did this one last Saturday with a 4x shop here in Denver. Even they commented on how much worse its gotten since they did it three years ago. A couple of the obstacles above the waterfall used to have a medium easy line and a medium hard line - now its just a hard line and a 'impossible without big tires, lockers front and rear and a bunch of ground clearance' line.

The longer the wheel base the easier everything is, though. It's still possible to do it in an unmodified Cherokee or H3 (as we saw) but not without beating the crud out of the vehicle and risking a roll-over here and there. Oh, yes, and a lot of 'skinny pedal'.:)

We did get to see a Toy pickup roll above the waterfall. Gotta admit, that trail is always entertaining.:)

OH, almost forgot. Check out the Top of the World trail. It's not particularly difficult - maybe a 3.75 if you do the entire trail with loop at the top. Great views and a pretty consistent string of entertaining but not suicidal obstacles. Its nothing like what's his name describes in his "Moab Utah" trail book.
