These things would be great except you cant vary pressure for different terrain.

Cool! But where did they find bees that large

I always thought of something like DUBS except the wheel would be solid metal with tread. Over that goes the inflatable rubber. If the tires goes flat you just drive on the steel wheel rim.

When they really go into production, shouldn't you cover the sides so they don't fill with mud? That would make for some nasty balance issues

I saw those at SEMA and talked to the developers.

I did question about the "clean out" ability. According to their tests, mud does not stick to the surface and the designe makes them self cleaning.

Interesting concept...

I would run them.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Body Damage is Cool
Michelin developed those years ago. Google: Tweel

Here's a vid of them in action. The amount of deformation scares me. Wonder what they feel like?

Do you have a link to a product? I'm spending way too much on rear steer pneumatic flats/labor/replacement and don't want to foam-fill them. If the cost is justifiable by comparison, that honeycomb wheel might be worth consideration.

I tried pulling up the company's website, but it was offline at the time of this post.
