Looks nice. The cage is tucked in quite well. Have you considered running the third hoop to the wheelhouse rather than direct to the floor? It will take frontal hits at the top of the windshield better that way.

Thanks guys Have you considered running the third hoop to the wheelhouse rather than direct to the floor? It will take frontal hits at the top of the windshield better that way.
This is why I put in the two rear down tubes, because the c-hoop is on that rearward tilt, they were an add-on not in my original plan. I like the way they look though.

Totally awesome, Keep up the progress! What made you decide on chopping it? Everything going back in? Would be cool if you could get the rear hatch to open & close once it's done

Totally awesome, Keep up the progress! What made you decide on chopping it? Everything going back in? Would be cool if you could get the rear hatch to open & close once it's done Thanks. I guess the main reason for chopping it, is that I have lots of time to spend in my garage. Being a Chicago union electrician, jobs are few and far between. I was starting the cage and thought it would be a cool, free, side project. Sticking with factory seats and seatbelts. The dash might go back in, unless I can find some cheap sheet aluminum. The carpet and headliner are history. The rear hatch is already cut in half, the window part still flips open, but the lower part will be the tailgate. Under the rear window will be a slide out center section so I can flip open the window(remotely hopefully), slide out the center, put the back seat down, and back my dirtbike in.

So I guess the gear oil smell from Haspin Acres is gone now. That is a big part of the reason I pulled my carpet out.
Are you bending the tubes or having a friend with a machine do it?

Yeah the blast of gear oil smell in the face every time I open the door is not so nice.
Last year I bought a Pro-Tools 105 with a 1.75 die and Bend-Tech Pro(computer software). That software makes tube bending a breeze.

Some progress today. The main parts are squared and tacked, except for the windshield cross tube, I think I'm gonna raise it. Then I could drop the whole assembly, to weld the tops. Made these for the tie in to the engine compartment tubework. Have 6 more of the bushings for the frame connections.
