Just had alternator rebuilt yesterday since was slowly dying. Put it back in truck in afternoon. truck started fine ran few minutes turned truck off. TODAY go to start truck -starts- revs like normal for few seconds and dies. Restart does same. Then finally have to feather gas for 10 seconds then takes off like nothing happens. Tonight get off work truck does same. WHY? When taking Alt off did arc once before remembering to pull term. When on my crazy trip there was a few times truck started strangely. Truck has never had starting issues.

Did you chec for crossed or damaged wires when reinstalling it?

Not much to cross. Wires go on post and Plug in. Thats it. Actually sick with stomach bug right now (Whole Fam is) Sucks! I need to check. but after truck finally starts it runs fine.

No this is the origonal one. issue is intermittant. This am started fine tinight 7pm started funny but easier, ???

Hmmm, I can't really help, although mine ALSO died today at school, how embarassing...
I got new walmart battery to use. My alternator/waterpump belt is so loose the weinie 50amp isn't charging fast enough with all the slip. Running the headlights, radio, and my 2 100w aux lights in the rain the other day doesn't help. I'm going to have to tear into it tomorrow after school and through the night. I work all weekend. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> My searching is bringing up water pump failure from my constant squeak...fingers crossed.

Maybe its mad you got salt on it up north...

A few months ago I went through water OVER the hood which did nicely soak everything. Since it's been cold truck never seems to slow it's idle. Not sure from being so cool or if something is slowly dying. I saw your little truck at Riverview this AM. I dropped my Daughter off in Mine. Even the Sheriffs deputy took a double take at mine LOL!
