I think at this point Scottie is the only one, everyone else who did had to replace their transmission.

I ran Mobil 1 in mine and it was fine (mine is a non electronic control model) . I stopped because it was too expensive and if I have a problem I just rebuild the unit. Last I checked I was spending as much on Mobil 1 as I did for a banner kit.

I have found it useful to remember mistakes. It is less painful to remember the mistakes of others, but all of them are useful to remember...

Mobil 1 ATF and Diamond SP III are the same price: $6 / qt. I should have mentioned that my 1990 unit takes Dexron. Great price on the Mobil 1, where are you buying from? I hear Wal-Mart had good prices but I have not checked them out.

In 2004 and 112k on engine I flushed trans oil with Redline C+ATF. No problems with tranmission. In 2008 and 138k on engine I flushed trans oil with Mobil1 Synthetic ATF - Multi-Vehicle, so far no problems and 8000mi on oil. The Mobil1 label on the back reads:
"Mobil1 Synthetic ATF is formulated for use in most North American, European and Asian vehicles."
"Also suitable for use in automatic transmissions for the following applications..... Mitsubishi Diamond SP-II, SP-III.."
I'll let you know if my trans fails.
