depends on what kind of driving you do the most. If mostly on road, my pref would be a 17x9 wheel with a 35. If you are going to do more off road, I would go with a 15x8. gives you more rubber when air'd down and pulls the beads in a bit. Some argue that 15x8 should not be used with a 12.5 width tire, but I like it and so do others:) make sure you have a good wheel back spacing. with the wider tires, you are going to want to be close to 3.75. I run 4.25, but have skinnies on mine:)

I have my 33x12.5/15's jammed on my stock 7" wide alloys with absolutely no problems. Guess it could also work for 35's.
It'll only rub on the front anti-sway bar during sharp slow speed turns.
Just an FYI.

I will second this as I have a few weeks now on my 33x12.5/15's on stock alloys. Discount, Sears, Costco... places like that will tell you it can't work or it will tear up the tires fast. I used to run 33x12.5s on stick Tahoe 7" wide wheels too and I always got great life out of the rubber. I think the biggest problem you would have on the narrower rims is the shop guys do not pay any attention and will over-inflate them. I almost wonder if they do it to purposely wear tires fast. Who knows. At this point I say pick a wheel you like more than anything, but yes, you will have some light rubbing so be prepared. My side lugs are pretty aggressive (Duratracs), so it was a bit of a shocking noise at first!

15x10's for 35x12.5 or wider 16xanything for overpriced low selection tires custom H1 16.5's awesome for really dirt cheap huge 35+ size tires (tire cost savings will pay for the rims instantly and over and over agian with future tire purchases) 17x10-12's for 38+ size tires 18+ size rims we're all going to laugh at you

Thanks for the info. I'm limited to whats for sale on Craigslist :p
I'm looking at some 15x10 rims now. They might be a go. So yall are running 12.5's without issues? Thats awesome. I was afraid I couldn't go that big.
My driving consist of a lot of street, a lot of mud, and zero rocks.

One thing that hasn't been defined or show to fit perfectly IMHO is the back spacing/offset for said rims.
I've run 15x8 w/ 4" of backspacking as well as 15x10 w/ 3.75" of backspacing. Both rub slighly in front and back although I don't recall if it rubs in back on the inside during articulation but it definitely rubs on the plastic rocker panel trim piece at the bottom front of the rear wheel well..

Haha, zero rocks around here. I think the highest mountain is an exit ramp off the interstate. I guess I could try to climb that! I'm a sand, ocean, and flip flop kind of guy so it works out good. I'm not concerned with a little rubbing as long as a BFH and cuttoff wheel can take care of it
