What you're probably seeing is a new aftermarket grille - not OEM Mitsubishi. The aftermarket parts can be really hit or miss on their quality and fitment. During my years in a bodyshop we would avoid aftermarket whenever possible, preferring used OEM parts instead - at least they would fit properly.
