<strong>Most S/C owners swear that you have to do all the fuel and tranny mods or the thing will ping like crazy and fry your transmission. Others, who have 99+ models, say that it is not necessary on their late model third gens because of a different fuel mapping program. They recommend a tranny cooler, but thats it. Question is, how do you know unless you've been running a S/C for 2+ years on a 99+ Someone help us out here.
Are all of the fuel and tranny mods necessary??????

If you're not prepared to spend more than $2000, I'd recommend just getting the SC and tranny cooler for now, and maybe get the larger pulley for lower boost. Keep ECT power off to save the transmission. Later on, you may decide to spend another $1.5k and it'll be like adding a supercharger again... with faster shifts, higher boost (9.5psi) and fine tuning with gismos like the sAFC, the 2nd round of mods will likely make a bigger difference to performance than the initial supercharger install.
