I was refering to the mention of the low grade 500 gear sets. I know these specific ones are unknown, but what are peoples experiences with others? Now that i thnk about it, nobody probably can answer that since anyone running something other than stock gear would have to buy Mitsu OE gears since the aftermarket for our rigs is so small. hmm, seems that if i keep typing i can answer even more of my own questions:)

Regarding the small (7.25") (glass) front end of the '88, before swapping the gearing, you should swap the front diff, mounts, and axles and put in the 8" front end from a Gen I V6. Before I swapped 5.29s into my '88 several years ago, I swapped the front end for the 8" front. The 8" front end is not only much stronger, but it also sets you up to install the ARB RD110 locker up front when the time suits you. I did that swap...being dual-locked rocks! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
Oh, and if you did swap in that front end, you'd have to likely have the front drive shaft shortened roughly an inch (mine had to be shortened 1.5").

I told the guy I'd order 2 sets and this is his reply via email We have stocks for this model(MB241981),if only 2 sets which will be sent by courier,I have just checked the DHL,the courier fee is US198.In my own opinion,do u have other goods which be shipped from your other supplier recently so that we can send sample to your supplier which be combined with your goods.Or do u have agent in China,u can ask him to get the sample from our factory. In fact, our factory has exported CWP more than 20years,so that say,we are expert in auto part in China. So really no need to worry about quality,u had better to order 50sets or 100sets so that we can ship by sea as a trial order, one side u can test your market by our products, others u will count on us after trial order. What do u think?Pls let me know what's your opinion? Dont think I'm gonna get 50sets.......

I googled the p/n and it didnt turn up much. I'm pretty sure you can get 5.29s for the 9" rear and 7.25" front from a shop in russia, and I'm sure there are other places that have them, just not in the u.s.

I have a 94 3.5l SR rear and a 90 3.0 front. Are these the right gears for me?

Front, yes. Rear, no. Same boat here Clay. If I'd have known that the 5.29's weren't available in anything but a Canter, I might have gone the route Dirtdriver did and ARB'ed the 9" that I had in the GenI.
