Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm helping a friend make a front hitch receiver to take a winch so he can install and remove it as required. I was surprised at how light the frame is on these rigs. Has anyone got any experience, advice or pictures of their own setup for this project?

i put a winch on the front of my sidekick- early model- very much like a sammy, i think.
you are right. the things are pretty light.
i started off by welding a 2" angle iron across the body mount pads in front. that became the base for my "winch mount". some more bracing back to the frame.
seems a receiver would be similar.
gonna get fancy with some high amp plug in there?

i got some pics, but someone probably has samurai pics, but you could probably start hacking and welding something that would be very functional. please post progress.
